N.Flying: A group that should not fly under your radar
By Nandini Iyengar

There have been several K-pop boy groups that have managed to make their mark beyond the regular schedule of making a comeback every new season. One such K-pop group is FNC Entertainment’s N.Flying. This rap rock band debuted in 2013. The band started as a four-member band with members Kwon Kwang-jin, Lee Seung-hyub, Cha Hun, and Kim Jae-hyun, though Yoo Hwe-seung was added to the lineup as a new member in 2017. Kwang Jin’s departure in 2018 brought the group back to its four-member origins until the addition of former HONEYST member Seo Dung Sung in 2020. From 2023, the members began their mandatory military enlistments one by one, sliding the group into a temporary hiatus.

Speaking of N.Flying’s music, the group has created a distinctive tone with each comeback. From playful to heartfelt, the band has covered a vast range of genres and emotions in their singing. The group has always made sure that their music carries a strain of joy and happiness. Even if they sing about heartbreak, there will be something soothing present for the fans to heal their heart.

Coming to making their mark beyond a comeback schedule, N.Flying’s members have been involved in acting and musicals. Hwe Seung has appeared in the musical We Will Rock You and also made his presence across several musical reality TV shows. Lee Seung Hyub is perhaps the most popular member of the band at the moment after his worthwhile roles in hit dramas like Lovely Runner and Love Next Door. Kim Jae Hyun has appeared in several web series and dramas as well. He and Cha Hun also ran a YouTube channel titled Two Idiots, but there has been no activity on the channel for about two years now. Seo Dung Sung has also appeared in a few minor roles in dramas over the years.
In 2024, N.Flying’s activity has been scant. The group’s two active members Lee Seung-hyub and Yoo Hwe-seung went on a tour and also released a special single “Into You” in June 2024. Watch the special clip for “Into You” here:
