i-dle’s MINNIE Releases Digital EP ‘i love you to the moon and back’
by Isabel Miller

MINNIE of i-dle has released a new digital EP, titled i love you to the moon and back, in celebration of her birthday.
The EP dropped on October 23, 2026, and consists of three songs: title track “to the moon :)”, “insomnia,” and “white clouds.” Each carries a light, warm feel, with dreamy hyper-pop and acoustic instrumentals layered beneath MINNIE’s delicate vocals.
The music video for “to the moon :)” was released at 12PM KST, and sees MINNIE joined by Japanese model Hibiki Tomiyama. The two reflect the romance found in the everyday moments shared between two partners as they explore the outdoors and eat dinner together. Throughout, imagery and animation present the moon as a metaphor for this developing relationship, transitioning from a crescent to a full moon.
As the EP’s title suggests, the three tracks piece together a narrative surrounding love and longing; “to the moon :)” recounts that genuine love and the desire to protect a partner, while “insomnia” describes the feeling of waiting for them to return and “white clouds” a bittersweet parting. The tracklist’s progression is somewhat melancholic, a distance growing between the lovers, but the longing in the final song suggests that hope remains.

More than that, i love you to the moon and back holds a personal significance to MINNIE as a release scheduled on her 28th birthday and also her first EP released in Thai. Born in Thailand, MINNIE moved to Seoul in 2015 upon passing an audition with her current company CUBE Entertainment. At last, she is imbuing her identity into her music, showcasing her talent to fans in her native language – and on the day connected to that upbringing, returning to her origins on her birthday.
She is not the first i-dle member to release music in recent weeks, nor according to this schedule. On October 7, YUQI released her first Chinese mini album 27 in celebration of her 27th birthday, similarly turning back to her native language to add a personal touch. She then performed fan concerts in China in connection to the album. Several other i-dle members have also been active as soloists this autumn; SOYEON released her first full album What a Wonderful Life in September, and MIYEON released the single Run Away in August before announcing plans to pursue acting. While no hiatus has been announced for the group as whole, it seems that they are using this season to pursue individual activities simultaneously.
Each of the previous i-dle releases drew curiosity over how MINNIE’s EP would sound, and upon its release today, now continues to present new possibilities. With the other members completing their own activities, further appearances from MINNIE surrounding i love you to the moon and back are expected.
