Meet The Member: An Interview with IDID’s Kim Minjae – The Playful All-Rounder With Puppy Energy
by Hasan Beyaz

To celebrate IDID’s official debut, we caught up with each member individually.
Playful yet versatile, Kim Minjae is often described as IDID’s “puppy,” a nickname that fits his easygoing charm behind the scenes. A natural all-rounder, he juggles rapping, singing, and dancing with ease, while also drawing lessons from his background in soccer about teamwork and moving as one. Though an admitted overthinker, Minjae finds calm the moment he steps on stage, where his focus sharpens and his energy shines.
1. You’re known as IDID’s “puppy” — how does that playful side show up behind the scenes?
I think it comes out most when I’m dancing or practicing vocals.
2. Soccer is one of your talents. Do you see any similarities between teamwork in sports and teamwork in K-pop?
I think both soccer and K-pop’s teamwork require moving together as one, with everyone working together toward the same goal.
3. You’re called the group’s versatile performer. Which part of I did it. best shows your all-rounder side?
I’m not bragging, but I believe I showed my all-rounder side by rapping, singing, and dancing throughout the album.
4. As an INTP, how do you manage overthinking when performing, and what helps you stay in the moment on stage?
It’s interesting how I stop overthinking whenever I’m on stage. My mind goes quiet and I just focus on that moment.
5. Which track on the album feels most personal to you, and why?
‘CHAN-RAN’ feels most personal to me because it’s the beginning of our story and the melody and lyrics suit us the best.
