MARK LEE Set To Release New Seasonal Single “Happiest” in November

by Isabel Miller

Soloist MARK LEE is set to release his second single “Happiest” on November 6, 2026, said his agency Upper Room yesterday.

The single was announced on social media via Upper Room, who first shared a video on YouTube shorts. The video sees MARK dancing casually amongst multiple dancers on a set, presumably for the “Happiest” music video. A snippet of “Happiest” plays on speakers in the background. Instead of releasing a composed, conceptual teaser, it has a very playful, joyful atmosphere and provides fans with an authentic look into production.

Teaser images were later uploaded online, which again carry a casual tone due to the use of polaroids. As one-time snapshots, polaroids are usually deemed intimate and personal, and these of MARK himself and various seasonal props like presents and a Christmas tree combine to create an image of honest celebration and enjoyment.

An officially reposted DongA article provides further details regarding the song itself. “Happiest” takes from the genres of alternative-pop and R&B, and begins with the question, “is the happiness we know truly happiness?”. As a result, its lyrics will consider the meaning of true happiness and see MARK breaking away from the definition of happiness presented by the rest of the world in favour of his own.

Written and composed by MARK himself, “Happiest” can be assumed to hold a personal significance to Mark, drawing on his thoughts. The song will give fans a glimpse into his new life as a soloist following his departure from NCT and SM Entertainment at the beginning of the year.

Given the seasonal props featured within several teaser images and the use of similar emojis attached to them, it also appears that “Happiest” is intended to be carried through the winter as a celebration of the holidays and the focus on family and community typically seen throughout them. With its November release, ensuing promotions will take place during the approach to Christmas and aim to position the song on the charts for that period.

“Happiest” will be MARK LEE’s first release in two months, following the release of “My Friend” in September. “My Friend” was his first single since departing SM Entertainment, published under Upper Room, and topped the daily song charts on Genie, Bugs and multiple iTunes regions. It also swept number one and two trending searches on MelOn on release day. The reception of “Happiest” will indicate whether MARK’s career as a soloist is set to receive consistent support, beyond the excitement and curiosity generated by his initial comeback.

MARK LEE’s “Happiest” will be available on global music streaming platforms from 2PM KST on November 6, 2026.
