LISA Pushes Her Solo Vision Forward With Cinematic Short Film for “Dream”

LISA Pushes Her Solo Vision Forward With Cinematic Short Film for “Dream”

LISA has rolled out the short film for “Dream,” a slow-burn standout from her debut solo album Alter Ego. The BLACKPINK star shares the screen with Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi, trading in stadium lights for a softer, cinematic glow. It’s a story of love and its aftertaste – fleeting highs, heavy silences – told through glances, gestures, and a steady unravel of memory.

For an artist so often framed in explosive choreography and precision styling, “Dream” hits different. It’s stripped back, mood-driven, and anchored in performance rather than spectacle. LISA moves between tenderness and ache with the same control she brings to her verses, showing an acting range that feels unforced and lived-in. The pacing is deliberate, refusing the dopamine rush of most pop visuals – a bold move for someone at her commercial peak.

The drop lands as LISA racks up another career milestone: a third MTV VMA nomination for Best K-Pop, this time for “Born Again” with Doja Cat and RAYE. She’s already made history here, becoming the first solo act to win the category twice. Alter Ego, released earlier this year, backed up the hype – debuting at #1 on the Top Album Sales chart and #7 on the Billboard 200.

In the past few months alone, she’s owned her Coachella debut at the Sahara Stage, scene-stolen in The White Lotus Season 3, and kept BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE World Tour in full swing. “Dream” feels like the counterpoint to all that noise – proof that LISA’s solo world has room for subtlety, risk, and stories that don’t need to shout to be heard.
