Kurated: BAIN Curates an Exclusive Pride Playlist

By Hasan Beyaz

I n April, during a JUST B concert in Los Angeles, BAIN stepped into history. Cloaked in fur and unshakable calm, he told the crowd, “You are seen. You are loved. And you were born this way,” before launching into a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” – and in that moment, he became one of the rare few K-pop idols to publicly come out.

Now, as part of Pride, BAIN offers something more personal: an exclusive playlist. It’s a mix of songs that hold meaning for him – queer anthems, emotional touchstones, and tracks that speak to self-acceptance, in all its forms.

From euphoric highs to quiet, reflective corners, these songs celebrate the kind of pride that doesn’t always need to be loud to be real.

Playlist

Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”

This song feels like the ultimate Pride anthem. It has a powerful message about loving yourself exactly as you are and never being ashamed of who you are. Listening to this song helped me accept myself more confidently.

Lady Gaga – “Poker Face”

At first, it sounds like a fun pop song, but to me, it symbolizes that hidden part of myself – the side I want to keep secret. Many people struggle with not being able to show their true selves, so this song really resonates with me.

Lady Gaga – “Applause”

I feel the raw emotion of wanting to show your true self and be recognized for it. During Pride, it’s about standing proudly and expressing who you are, and this song captures that feeling perfectly.

Beyoncé – “Halo”

This song is about healing and learning to love yourself after going through pain. It reminds me that everyone has their struggles, but there’s something beautiful and bright inside each of us.

Beyoncé – “Pretty Hurts”

It’s a message for anyone struggling with society’s standards of beauty – don’t let those pressures define your worth. That message aligns closely with the spirit of Pride, which is about owning your true value.

Frank Ocean – “Chanel”

This song beautifully expresses the complexity of identity – how multiple sides of us exist at once. Listening to it made me feel less alone in my journey of self-acceptance.

Frank Ocean – “Forrest Gump”

It shows a different, honest way to express love, stepping outside traditional norms. I think that openness and acceptance are key themes in Pride.

Charli XCX – “So I”

I liked how this song talks about honesty and embracing yourself fully. Pride isn’t just a party – it’s about truly accepting who you are, and this song captures that well.

Bad Bunny – “Yo Perreo Sola”

This song emphasizes independence and self-empowerment, especially for women, but its message that everyone deserves to live freely as themselves is very important. It connects deeply with the values of Pride. I’m also a huge fan of Bad Bunny – his boldness and authenticity are so inspiring to me.

Danna Paola – “Mala Fama”

The attitude of confidence and living boldly no matter what others say is inspiring. That kind of courage to be unapologetically yourself is exactly what Pride is about.
