Announce Asia and Oceania Legs of ‘THE WILDWORLD TOUR’, First Concert in South Korea

By Isabel Miller

Global group KATSEYE are set to perform across Asia and Oceania in early 2027 on ‘THE WILDWORLD TOUR’ – including their first stand-alone concert in Seoul, South Korea.

HYBE x Geffen announced the new tour legs with an updated tour poster, shared on October 29. The Asia leg will kick-off in Yokohama on January 27, before visiting Manila on January 29, Hong Kong on February 1, Seoul on February 4, Cebu on February 7, Singapore on February 10, Bangkok on February 12, and Taipei on February 14. Then, on February 24 and 28 the group will perform in Melbourne and Sydney respectively, before concluding this section in Auckland, New Zealand, on March 5.

The tour has already visited Europe and is currently taking place across the U.S., potentially making these dates the final performances of KATSEYE’s first world tour and closing out the ‘WILDWORLD’ chapter. Notably, both the Europe and U.S. legs sold out, and so if these new dates also sell well then KATSEYE could be looking at their first world tour achieving a complete, global sell-out.

This series of performances in Asia holds additional significance as it will see the group hosting their first stand-alone concert in Seoul. KATSEYE exists on the fringes of K-pop as a concept, and have done since even before their debut. The group was formed as an experimental collaboration between Geffen and HYBE, one of the leading K-pop agencies. Throughout the survival show The Debut: Dream Academy in 2023, a show format modelled on the survival shows held in Korea, the six members were chosen and trained according to a program inspired, again, by shows and internal programs used in Korea. The idea was to use the K-pop formula to launch a global girl group with members of multiple nationalities and skills across both singing and dancing. They have also performed on multiple Korean music shows as part of promotional cycles.

Since the survival show, KATSEYE has become one of the biggest girl groups worldwide. But despite their roots in K-pop, a collaboration with K-pop artists ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM, and several domestic music show appearances, KATSEYE have never performed their own concert in the country.

The sales figures and overall reception of this show in Seoul will determine whether this imitation of the K-pop formula can find an audience in the country that it came from, and in turn how much of the global popularity of KATSEYE is merely the result of unfamiliarity with the concept and strategies. KATSEYE has brought something new to the West and the HYBE x Geffen experiment has been proven successful, but how will they appear to Korean fans already expecting a top level of singing and dancing ability?

The show will take place at the KSPO DOME, a historic venue that has hosted many top artists from Korea and abroad and holds approximately 15,000 attendees. To sell the venue would be a key achievement for KATSEYE and their future in relation to the K-pop industry.

Tickets for the Asia and Oceania shows will go on sale at different times depending on each region, with all information for pre-sales and general sales available on KATSEYE’s social media.
