Jimin’s Single “WHO” Dominates Spotify Japan, Setting New Records

Jimin, a beloved figure in South Korea and Japan, continues to solidify his influence as a solo artist with his hit single “WHO”. Known for his mesmerizing stage presence and topping “Best Dancer in K-pop” polls, Jimin's immense popularity spans all demographics. His latest smash single has performed exceptionally well on streaming platforms, particularly in Japan, the second-largest music market globally.
As of October 2, “WHO” is ranked #3 on Spotify Japan's song chart, marking its 76th consecutive day on the chart since its release. The song previously peaked at #1 on September 3, spending 16 days at the top and breaking records as the longest-charting song by a Korean/K-pop solo artist to ever hold the #1 spot on Spotify Japan's Daily Top Songs chart. This achievement dethroned fellow BTS member Jungkook’s Seven as the previous record holder.

Notably, “WHO” is the first and only solo track by a Korean/K-pop artist to reach #1 on Spotify Japan’s Daily Top Songs chart, a milestone it first achieved on July 28. On that day, the song garnered 444,000 streams, breaking the record for the highest streaming day for a K-pop soloist on the platform, surpassing Jungkook’s “Standing Next To You.”
Jimin’s continued success in both Japan and South Korea, two of the world’s top music markets, highlights his powerful presence as a solo artist. His achievements with “WHO” set new standards for K-pop soloists, further cementing his legacy in the global music scene.
