JENNIE & Dua Lipa Drop Official Video for ‘Handlebars’
Jennie’s been busy collaborating lately—after dropping songs with Doechii and Dominic Fike (plus a music video with Charles Melton), she’s got another big one lined up with Dua Lipa. The British pop star features on Handlebars, a track from Jennie’s new album, Ruby, and it’s definitely got a romantic vibe.
The catchy chorus has them singing, “I trip and fall in love / Just like a Tuesday drunk / I always go all in, all in, all in.” The song’s writing credits go to Lipa, Delacey, Amy Allen (who just snagged the Grammy for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical), James Alan Ghaleb, and Rob Bisel.
This isn’t their first time teaming up—Blackpink was on Lipa’s track Kiss and Make Up back in 2017.
“Working with Dua is always a pleasure,” Jennie told Capital FM. “I’ve known her for ages, and honestly, it doesn’t even feel like work—it’s more like hanging out with a friend.”
Besides Dua Lipa, Ruby also features collabs with Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, and FKJ. Talking to Hits Radio about working with other artists, Jennie said, “I just had to break through that wall and find myself before stepping into the studio with anyone else. Once I did, everything just came together naturally.”
A few days after the album dropped on March 7, Jennie and Lipa released a trippy, psychedelic music video for Handlebars, directed by BRTH.
