J-Hope: Like Sunshine

J-Hope is known for being like sunshine. Full of positivity and infectious energy, J-Hope has gone from being simply a dancer to being one of the most influential K-pop artists of our era. From his role in BTS to his success as a solo artist, J-Hope popularity is largely due to his upbeat music, endearing stage presence, and connection with his fans.
J-Hope—whose real name is Jung Hoseok—debuted as a member of BTS under Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. Before joining BTS, J-Hope was a well-known street dancer and was even part of an underground dance team called Neuron. Although not necessarily the lead dancer of BTS, J-Hope is heavily involved in the group's choreography as well.

J-Hope isn’t just a dancer though. BTS’ “Boy Meets Evil” showcased J-Hope’s rapping abilities. As a solo artist, J-Hope took off pretty much right from the get-go with his debut mixtape, Hope World. The title track, “Daydream” was an instant hit, with an upbeat sound and vibrant energy. Aside from that, the song is also a discussion of the difficulties K-pop idols face in their career. The whole mixtape is full of retro, synth-pop, and trap elements that create an energetic tone.
J-Hope’s stage presence matches this energy. He always comes up with captivating choreography, and his outfit is always complete with a smile. In 2022, he performed at Lollapalooza and the crowd was stunned by his illuminating performance. You can watch the whole performance here:
