ITZY’s Yuna to Star in Netflix’s Original Drama ‘Do Not Climb Over the Wall’

By Isabel Miller

Following her acting debut in the K-drama Undercover Miss Hong, ITZY’s Yuna is set to star in a lead role in Netflix’s new original series, Do Not Climb Over the Wall.

Written by Lee Naeun, known for previously writing Our Beloved Summer (2021) and Melo Movie (2025), Do Not Climb Over the Wall is a coming-of-age romance K-drama starring Shin Siah (Resident Playbook) and Moon Sangmin (Under the Queen’s Umbrella) as the two romantic leads. The synopsis, translated from Naver by MyDramaList, reads: “A high school romance story about two students from rival elite schools – a boys’ school and a girls’ school separated by a fence – who both become student council presidents and refuse to lose to each other. Under a strict rule that expels students for getting caught dating, it portrays the reckless first love of 19-year-olds.”

Yuna is reported to play Kim Lizzy, a transfer student who joins Jinwol Girls' High School as a track and field specialist.

Once settled in, her stories about her old co-ed school – and her boasting about contact with boys – begin to disrupt the previously studious atmosphere of her new class.

The role echoes Yuna's debut last year in Undercover Miss Hong, where she played Hong Jangmi, the rebellious younger sister of lead character Hong Geumbo (Park Shinhye). It's an early sign that Yuna may be settling into a type, as many new actors do in their first few roles. She's also recently wrapped filming My Bias, My Boss, a tvN rom-com based on the Naver webtoon My Oppa Is An Idol, following a fangirl who ends up working under her favourite idol. Little is known yet about her character beyond the fact she plays a popular actress, but if the rebellious archetype resurfaces there too, it would point to a more defined typecast emerging early in her acting career.

Yuna only debuted as an actress in January, yet she's already attached to three dramas, several in lead roles – a pace that suggests genuine ambition beyond her work with ITZY. The idol-actor path is well established; ASTRO's Cha Eunwoo, SF9’s Rowoon, and IU have all built dual careers without leaving their music behind, while others, like former miss A member Suzy, eventually moved into acting full-time after leaving JYP Entertainment in 2019. Yuna isn't on that trajectory yet – she renewed with ITZY alongside the rest of the group in September 2025 for a further three years. But with Netflix and tvN both backing her early work, the pace of her acting career is one worth watching.

The coming-of-age, romance K-drama will begin production this summer, and is expected to release in 2027.
