To celebrate WHIB’s comeback with CHERRY PIE, we caught up with each member individually.
LEE JEONG’s connection to WHIB extends well beyond the hours spent in the practice room. Even on his days off, he finds himself looking for ideas that could have a positive impact on the team, reflecting a naturally group-minded approach to his role. That same instinct comes through on stage, where he focuses on coordination and shared cues, helping the members move with the kind of unity that makes seven performers feel like one. But for JEONG, the strongest connection happens when WHIB’s performance becomes something shared with their fans.
Hearing an audience sing along transforms the stage from something the group performs on into a space they experience together — a feeling that continues to shape how he understands growth as an artist.
What’s a trait you have that you think helps you build a stronger connection with the other members?
LEE JEONG I think I often spend my days off searching for things that could have a positive impact on the team and coming up with ideas on my own.
How do you help hold the group together during performances?
We practice coordinating our cues and moving together as if we were one.
When do you feel most connected to the stage?
I feel most connected to the stage when we interact with our fans. When I hear them singing along, it feels like the fans and the stage become connected and we’re performing together.
What does growth look like for you beyond technical improvement?
Of course, improving my skills is important, but I think my mindset and attitude toward the work are even more important.
