i-dle Announces 9th Mini Album ‘We made’ With Thermal Teaser
By Isabel Miller
Cube Entertainment girl group i-dle has announced their 9th mini album ‘We made,’ for release on 6 July 2026. This is the second mini album that the five members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua are releasing under the name i-dle, following a contract renewal and re-brand from (G)I-DLE in 2025. It is also their first release in over a year.
The teaser, posted across i-dle’s social media pages on 8 June at midnight KST, is composed of several images of thermal scans and X-rays. Each highlights a heart shape: in the positioning of hands, within the brain, and replacing an anatomical heart in the chest. This may indicate the album’s theme or narrative. More teasers are expected to follow in the coming days.
Narrative-wise, ‘We made’ also confirms i-dle’s intention to follow an album naming – or rather re-naming – sequence across their future releases. ‘We are,’ released 19 May 2025, returned to the group’s debut 2018 mini album ‘I am’ – shifting towards a new, collective outlook with new music while maintaining a link to the first release. ‘We made’ does the same: it mimics the group’s second mini album ‘I made,’ released in 2019. These albums are not re-makes, and do not feature any old songs, but instead establish a storyline across i-dle’s discography.
Given the group’s rebranding, this choice feels pointed. It indicates that the group are consciously viewing their contract renewal as a new era. Additionally, the discography-wide narrative it creates is on a scale rarely seen in the K-pop space, expanding beyond work solely on individual concepts or small consecutive series.
i-dle – consisting of Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua – initially debuted as (G)I-DLE, and announced a rebrand on their seventh anniversary, following confirmation that they had renewed their contract with Cube Entertainment in late 2024.
