HYBE Gains Approval to Pursue Legal Action Against YouTubers Who Allegedly Defamed LE SSERAFIM

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has granted HYBE Labels the right to access personal information about two YouTubers accused of defaming the girl group LE SSERAFIM. This development marks a significant step in HYBE's ongoing efforts to protect its artists from malicious online behavior.

In June, HYBE initially filed a request with the Northern California District Court to obtain the personal details of the YouTubers, intending to pursue a criminal lawsuit. However, the court denied this request, stating that such inquiries should be made by investigators rather than the victims themselves. Undeterred, HYBE Labels refiled the request in July, this time with the intention of pursuing a civil lawsuit instead.

On August 20 KST, the court approved HYBE's revised request, allowing the company to access the information necessary to identify the YouTubers. HYBE has now been authorized to enlist the help of Google headquarters to obtain the relevant data.

With this information, HYBE Labels plans to file a defamation lawsuit in South Korea, taking decisive action against the individuals responsible for spreading harmful content about LE SSERAFIM.
