Just under a month after his departure from ENHYPEN, Lee Hee-seung has a new identity. BELIFT LAB has officially launched his solo artist profile under the name EVAN – live on the label's website, sitting alongside ENHYPEN and labelmates ILLIT in the artist roster. A debut is listed as coming soon. An Instagram account, @h_evva_n, is already active.

The label's biography for EVAN is worth reading closely. It describes him as "a versatile vocalist defined by a trendy, sophisticated tone," and references the six years he spent as HEESEUNG of ENHYPEN before noting that he has "consistently showcased his creative range through songwriting and production." Then comes the line that does the most work: "he is now poised to define a new chapter as a solo artist." The name itself, the bio explains, "captures an alternate dimension of his identity and represents the essence of his musical artistry" – a persona through which he aims to share "a sound shaped entirely by his own unique color and emotional depth."

That framing lands differently in light of how the departure was announced. When BELIFT LAB confirmed HEESEUNG was leaving ENHYPEN on March 10, the official statement cited his "distinct musical vision." His own letter to fans referenced personal work he had been developing for some time, and an unwillingness to put his own ambitions ahead of the group. The EVAN profile is, in effect, the first concrete answer to what that work was building toward – not a vague creative divergence, but a fully formed solo identity with its own name, aesthetic, and label infrastructure already in place.

The choice of the name EVAN is notable in itself. It’s his English name – not a romanisation of his Korean name, nor a stage name in the conventional K-pop mould. It signals distance from the ENHYPEN era – a deliberate reframe rather than a continuation. The Instagram handle, h_evva_n, threads a visual connection to both identities without collapsing them together.

What EVAN's music will actually sound like remains unknown. No singles, no album title, no release window beyond the placeholder on the profile page. But the branding is live, and the timeline from departure to official solo launch has been swift – less than four weeks between the BELIFT announcement and a functioning artist page on the label's own site.

For fans who spent March parsing the language of that original notice, the EVAN profile is the first concrete answer to what HEESEUNG's "distinct musical vision" was actually pointing toward. A fully formed solo identity, with its own name, aesthetic, and label infrastructure now officially in place.
