Name: Irene (아이린)

Fun Facts:

Irene has had many representations over the years including, a watermelon, a rabbit, and an ax.
Despite being the group leader, she is sometimes known as the ‘fake maknae’ of the group due to her carefree and lighthearted personality.
Irene avoids eating chicken or drinking coffee. She doesn’t like how either make her feel.

Name: Seulgi (슬기)

Positions: Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist

Fun Facts:

Seulgi was the first member of Red Velvet to join SM Entertainment and began training in 2007, seven years before the group’s debut.
In 2018, Converse Korean announced Seulgi as their first-ever female brand ambassador.
Seulgi trained with members of f(x) and is good friends with them to this day.

Name: Wendy (웬디)

Position: Main Vocalist

Fun Facts:

Wendy is a multi-instrumentalist and can play the piano, guitar, flute and saxophone.
One of her favorite hobbies is finding new and rare songs.
Wendy took a hiatus from the group after a stage accident that caused serious injury but was able to recover fully and return to the group.

Name: Joy (조이)

Positions: Lead Rapper, Vocalist

Fun Facts:

When she was young, Joy wanted to be a veterinarian or kindergarten teacher.
In 2019, Joy had the most Instagram followers of any K-pop artist who started an account that year.
Joy has a dog named Haetnim who has an Instagram account with 146K followers.

Name: Yeri (예리)

Positions: Rapper, Vocalist, Maknae

Fun Facts:

Yeri’s favorite singer is Ariana Grande.
Prior to filming the video for “Automatic”, Yeri had never walked in high heels before.
Unlike the rest of the group who joined in 2014, Yeri joined Red Velvet in 2015 and replaced Joy as the maknae.
