EXO's KAI makes anticipated return with magnetic new single 'Adult Swim'

The record is the first preview of his long-awaited fourth mini album, aptly titled “Wait On Me”, arriving on 21 April. Pre-order/save HERE.
An upbeat pop track built around a simple yet irresistible drum loop, ‘Adult Swim’ uses dreamy, oceanic imagery to symbolise the deep and immersive emotions of love, portraying two people diving in together without fear. The song was co-produced by MAX, American singer and producer well-known in the K-pop space for working with artists such as BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
With its relaxed yet hypnotic beat, ‘Adult Swim’ sets the stage for KAI’s highly anticipated return and shows a natural progression of his artistry. The titular lead single from his last EP, 2023’s “Rover”, produced a viral sensation on TikTok and went on to be named one of DAZED’s 50 best K-pop tracks of 2023. His first solo single ‘Mmmh’ set multiple records on YouTube, including the fastest solo debut music video from a male K-pop artist to hit 10 million views, while follow-up ‘Peaches’ topped iTunes Album Charts in 58 regions. All three albums have been certified Platinum in Korea.
KAI is no stranger to accolades, having debuted in 2012 as a member of multi-award-winning K-pop group EXO, who have sold over 35 million album equivalents, making them one of the most successful K-pop groups of all time. The soloist and style icon has also been hailed by British GQ as “the world’s best-dressed K-pop star”, and in 2019 he became the first Korean to be appointed a global brand ambassador for Gucci.
Alongside his new album, KAI will take his vision to the stage with a 10-city solo tour, ‘2025 KAI SOLO CONCERT TOUR <KAION>’, kicking off in Seoul this May. In June, he will return to the UK for the first time in five years to perform at SMTOWN Live in London at Allianz Twickenham Stadium on 28 June. The epic stadium concert, in celebration of SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary, also features over a dozen other K-pop stars, including fellow EXO members SUHO and CHANYEOL, as well as NCT, aespa, RIIZE, Red Velvet, and more.
