EVNNE To Return with 6th Mini Album ‘on: our noise’ on October 19

by Isabel Miller

Jellyfish Entertainment boy group EVNNE are set to return on October 19 with their sixth mini album on: our noise, their first mini album since the group’s restructure.

The announcement came in the form of a trailer, which alternates between images of stars and musical equipment including speakers, a guitar, and sound wave charts. In many of the images, five stars are present, representative of the five members of EVNNE. In the background, a synth-drive instrumental cuts off to emphasise a written message to “JOIN THE SOUND LABORATORY CLUB” and its “FIELD RECORDING DIVISION.”

A fictional “SOUND LABORATORY CLUB”, as well as the album’s title, suggests that on: our noise will use music itself as the core of its concept, positioned as a reflection of the group’s musical identity. At the same time, the fictional framing adds a playful angle to the trailer, aligning with the playfulness of some of EVNNE’s previous releases.

EVNNE have put out a wide range of concepts and sounds since their debut in 2023. Initial albums took on a darker mix of electronic and R&B, but RIDE or DIE and LOVE ANECDOTE(S) presented a lighter, love-driven narrative. HOT MESS of 2025 displaced both with comedy and chaos, led by a bright instrumental; their most recent project, the single “Backtalk,” heads in the opposite direction towards hip-hop. Ultimately, EVNNE’s musical identity is one that showcases their multi-faceted talents. With an album themed around the creation of music and the possessive “our” distinction, the group may be finally defining their signature.

In December, Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed that their original seven-member line-up would lose members YUNSEO and SEUNGEON. YUNSEO has since begun his military service, while SEUNGEON re-debuted with AND2BLE alongside four former members of ZEROBASEONE. Many expected that a reshuffle would take place due to the temporary nature of the contracts held by both ZEROBASEONE and EVNNE off the back of the survival show Boys Planet, but the news was still bound to cause a shift.

That shift came in the form of “Backtalk,” which took on a loud, electronic hip-hop approach different to any of EVNNE’s previous music. Now, as the group prepares for the release of their first mini album since that change, it is unclear whether they plan to take that hip-hop sound forward or carve out something different. on: our noise will act as the determiner.

EVNNE’s on: our noise will be available to stream on October 19, with more teasers anticipation prior to the release.
