Dal Shabet: A Return to Form

Dal Shabet, a South Korean girl group created by E-Tribe under Happy Face Entertainment, made their debut on January 3, 2011, with their EP Supa Dupa Diva. Initially composed of Viki, Serri, Ah Young, Jiyul, Kaeun, and Subin, the group quickly captured attention. Their debut song was an instant hit, marking them as a fresh and promising act in the K-pop scene. Following this early success, Dal Shabet cemented their legacy with a string of top twenty Gaon Digital Chart hits, including "Pink Rocket," "Bling Bling," "Hit U," and "Mr. Bang Bang."

The group's debut was significant as Dal Shabet was the first idol group to debut in 2011. "Supa Dupa Diva" garnered significant recognition, being voted the second most addictive song of the year. They followed up with releases that blended vibrant and elegant concepts, appealing widely to the K-pop audience. Despite facing controversies, such as over their provocative outfits and lyrics, Dal Shabet maintained their momentum and continued to evolve musically and aesthetically, evident in their bold transformation for the release of "Hit U." Following the release, Viki departed in May 2012 and was replaced by Woohee.

In December 2015, Jiyul and Kaeun also exited the group, leading Dal Shabet to continue as a quartet. They released two mini-albums, Naturalness and Fri. Sat. Sun. Further departures occurred in December 2017 and December 2018, yet the group did not officially disband. Happy Face Entertainment left the door open for future activities, and the members' enduring dedication was clear when they reunited as a six-member group in September 2019 for a photo exhibition and mini-concert.
