Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Zenly (feat. Dajung)” by chiyoonhae

This song by chiyoonhae and Dajung is dreamy and serene, with chord changes that border on psychedelic. It feels like the male/female vocal pairing is mixed in such a way to maximize brain stimulation, with chiyoonhae’s vocals front and center and Dajung panned hard left and right. Her vocals really shimmer and shine throughout the track in a beautiful way.

This song begins as a simple mid tempo jam, but slowly dials up the tension with added organic percussion, synth swells and percussive blips, and lush electric guitar. It’s a really beautiful number, and definitely feels “Zenly.”
