Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Coconut Love” by Seoulmoon

Sitting somewhere between dream pop, indie rock, and disco is Soulmoon’s “Coconut Love.” A strong sub bass line rips underneath riffy funk guitars and sweet indie female vocals as goofy internet-era synth plays over the top. This is a synth sample that would make Owl City happy.
“Coconut Love” is infectious. It’s sweet. It’s catchy. And it slowly builds until layer after catchy layer builds into an undeniable indie anthem that we haven’t been able to stop playing. Seriously, it’s been on repeat for at least 48 hours. It’s hard to believe this song came out 6 years ago and we’re just now hearing about it. Typical Americans, right?
Don’t be like us. Listen to “Coconut Love.”
