Candy Shop’s “Girls Don’t Cry” concepts are stunning

Brave Entertainment’s Candy Shop wasted absolutely no time in following up their debut. The South Korean girl group consisting of Soram, Yuina, Sui, Sarang, and Julia made their debut a mere three months ago, dropping the debut mini album Hashtag# on March 27, 2024.

Now, they’re back with their sophomore mini album Girls Don’t Cry. The lead single “Don’t Cry” does most of the heavy lifting here. It’s a crafty earworm that feels like an updated take on indie tween bubblegum Myspace pop. There’s no possible way you can hear this song and 1) not get it stuck in your head and 2) think of anything but a sunny summer day along the shore.
