Global superstars BTS have overtaken the record for the highest annual tour figure with ‘ARIRANG’ earnings, surpassing Beyonce’s 2025 record.

According to a new report from Pollstar, the leading source for box office figures in the live entertainment industry, BTS’ World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ has taken the top spot for worldwide touring earnings with USD$465.8 million in ticket sales. The figure includes all shows from the beginning of 2026 up until August 12, recording 38 ‘ARIRANG’ shows and a total attendance of 2,314,140. In that time, BTS performed in Korea, Japan, Europe and the U.S..

The previous record, set by Beyonce and the 32 shows of the ‘COWBOY CARTER’ World Tour last year, was held at USD$407.6 million. BTS have now overtaken that number by over 50 million dollars. Not only is the feat remarkable, especially given the sizable gap over the previous record, but it promises that BTS will continue their record-breaking streak; their touring activities for 2026 are not yet complete.

The ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour began in April as a celebration of BTS’ reunion and their fifth album of the same name. The North American leg concluded in Los Angeles on September 6, pulling the total beyond Pollstar’s data to 42 shows complete. There are also still 25 shows listed on the original tour schedule set to take place throughout the rest of 2026. As BTS have already broken the record for the highest annual tour figure, the gap separating the ‘ARIRANG’ and ‘COWBOY CARTER’ tours will grow, potentially almost doubling on the basis of almost half of the 2026 segment of the tour – a total of 29 shows compared to 32 – not yet being considered.

This record, and the promise of its extension, positions BTS alongside and ultimately above a well-known Western artist with thirty years of experience. That regional separation is important. In the past, the language and cultural differences between K-pop and American pop music has caused K-pop to be met with dismissal by the wider music industry and its Western leaders. The fact that the majority of BTS’ recorded shows for ‘ARIRANG’ took place in the West showcases the growth of the genre internationally, no longer restrained by the same barriers.

The increase in the popularity of K-pop and its presence in the mainstream has taken place only in recent years – and is already surpassing records by artists at the top of the entirety of the music industry. And as the genre is arguably only beginning to cement itself as a permanent fixture in the mainstream and amongst recognised names, the likelihood of a very promising future in the live touring space is increasing.

BTS’ ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour already holds the record for the highest grossing tour by a vocal group in history. Several of its stops, such as in South Korea, Spain, Belgium, and France, are also noted as the highest-grossing concerts in the history of each of the listed countries. With eight shows already announced for the first quarter of 2027, and the promise of further dates in Japan, the Middle East, and “More,” the final figures are expected to be astronomical.
