BIGBANG Become the First K-pop Group to Headline the Accor Stadium in Sydney

Industry legends BIGBANG have officially become the first K-pop group to host a standalone concert at the Accor Stadium in Sydney.
The Accor Stadium is the largest stadium in Sydney and one of the largest venues in Australia overall. With a standard concert capacity of up to 83,500 attendees, the stadium has seen huge performances from globally popular artists like Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.
According to the group’s agency YG Entertainment, BIGBANG join that list as the first K-pop group to headline the venue following a performance on October 31, 2026 as part of their 20th-anniversary ‘BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS >.’ The event was completely sold out, proving that the booking was warranted and that BIGBANG deserve that title.
Notably, the concert was also BIGBANG’s first in the city in approximately 11 years. Prior to ‘XX : COSMOS,’ the last time BIGBANG hosted a standalone concert in Sydney was in October 2015, when they visited the Allphones Arena for two consecutive nights on their ‘BIGBANG 2015 WORLD TOUR [MADE].’ The Allphones Arena, now named the Afterpay Arena, boasts a standard concert capacity of around 21,000 – meaning that BIGBANG, despite an 11 year absence, successfully tripled the size of their event.

BIGBANG are one of the strongest artists to come out of the K-pop industry in regards to longevity. Hits like “Fantastic Baby,” “Bang Bang Bang,” and “Haru Haru” still gain large numbers of streams over a decade on from their release, with newer generations of artists covering the songs and emphasising BIGBANG’s influence. They were one of the pioneers of the Hallyu Wave, and now, in 2026, it is only right that BIGBANG return with even bigger performances to experience K-pop’s newfound international success and showcase an element of the movement’s origins.
Many of those hits were performed in Sydney this October, with a packed setlist also including songs like “Loser,” “Lies,” “Hands Up,” and of course, the group’s newly released reunion single “BiiiG.” G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG each additionally presented some of their own solo stages throughout the evening, shining a spotlight on their success as soloists during that extended hiatus.
BIGBANG have already performed across the U.S. and Europe over the course of this tour. Following their stop in Sydney, they will return to Asia, visiting Bangkok, Hong Kong, and various cities across Japan before the end of 2026. In 2027, they plan to visit other Asian cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila, and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, drawing ‘XX : COSMOS’ to a close.
Tickets for several of the 2027 shows are still available, with more information available on the YG Entertainment website.
