BamBam Returns Home With “Dancing By Myself”
by Hasan Beyaz

BamBam is stepping into a new era. On September 12, the GOT7 rapper and singer dropped “ไม่มีใครสักคืน (Dancing By Myself)” with Thai artist TIMETHAI, the first look at his upcoming Thai-language album HOMETOWN (out October 10).
The single doesn’t chase a club anthem in the obvious way. Instead, it leans into spacey beats and a sleek groove, more about being in your own zone than filling the floor. BamBam wrote and composed the track, with TIMETHAI’s feature adding extra colour and bounce.
Fans got a first glimpse through a teaser set high above Bangkok, where the two perform in a glass sky lounge, the city glowing below – a fitting image for a homecoming that feels both intimate and cinematic.
The lyrics are sharp in their refusal of expectation. “If you wanna dance, then dance with somebody,” he sings, before twisting it: “I’ll be all night dancing by myself.” Verse by verse, he pushes back against empty connections – “Don’t wanna be where you are, yeah” – while painting a vivid picture of neon lights, alcohol, and the satisfaction of being completely alone in rhythm. The repetition of “Dancing by myself” doesn’t feel mournful; instead feeling more like a confidence-booster.
For BamBam, that independence has history. He started in Bangkok’s street dance crews before moving to Korea at 14, debuting with GOT7 in 2014 and helping the group build one of the strongest international fanbases of the generation. Since launching his solo career in 2021, he’s turned those experiences inward: exploring songwriting, testing new vocal tones, and growing into a fashion figure who’s just as at ease at Louis Vuitton shows as he is on stage.
HOMETOWN is sure to feel like a full-circle moment. A project that puts Thai identity at its centre while aiming outward, to the global audience that has followed BamBam for more than a decade. If “Dancing By Myself” is the tone-setter, then this album feels like it’s going to see BamBam claiming space – in Bangkok, in music, and in himself.
