ATEEZ Are Bringing Their VR Concert Experience to Cinemas Worldwide This August
by Hasan Beyaz

ATEEZ are heading back to the big screen. Trafalgar Releasing, VR concert company AMAZE, and KQ Entertainment have announced ATEEZ : LIGHT THE WAY IN CINEMAS, a two-date cinematic event screening on 6 and 8 August at theatres worldwide. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 6, at 10PM KST/ 2PM BST / 6AM PDT / 9AM EDT.
The release is an adaptation of AMAZE's immersive VR concert experience, which toured select cities globally throughout 2025 and 2026. For cinema, the production has been reformatted for large-format screens rather than headsets – shot in 8K resolution with multi-camera coverage and 5.1 surround sound. Songs featured include "INCEPTION," "BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS)," and "Ice On My Teeth."
AMAZE specialises in live-action 3D VR footage built through an Unreal Engine-based VFX pipeline, which means the source material wasn't designed for a flat screen to begin with. Translating that into a traditional cinema setting is a genuine production challenge, and how well that translation lands will likely determine how this event sits alongside ATEEZ's 2025 theatrical outing – ATEEZ WORLD TOUR [TOWARDS THE LIGHT : WILL TO POWER] IN CINEMAS – which already demonstrated there's an audience for the group in that format.
The cinema event will also include 20 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and a narrative framing device: ATEEZ receive a mysterious message and journey through a series of surreal, visually distinct environments in search of their fanbase, ATINY. Local exhibitors will also offer exclusive photocard gifts. The film will open in most territories on 6 and 8 August, with a Korean release following on 19 August and a Japan date to be confirmed.

Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, described the project as "a reimagined version of their innovative ATEEZ VR concert experience," adding that the behind-the-scenes content was intended to offer fans "a fresh way to connect with the group on a truly cinematic scale."
ATEEZ – HONGJOONG, SEONGHWA, YUNHO, YEOSANG, SAN, MINGI, WOOYOUNG, and JONGHO – debuted in October 2018 and have built their international profile steadily since, becoming the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella in 2024 and the first K-pop act to headline Morocco's Mawazine festival. Their second studio album THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2023, and last year's GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3 debuted at No. 2 on the same chart while its title track "Lemon Drop" gave the group their first entry on the Hot 100.
