Mingi of ATEEZ has once again surprised fans with an unexpected new drop – this time, a music video for “ROAR”, his solo entry which was originally part of the group’s GOLDEN HOUR: Part.3 ‘In Your Fantasy Edition’ album released in July.
The “ROAR” MV is the latest installment in Mingi’s [FIX OFF] Desire Project solo series. The series began in February 2024 with “Tunnel,” an introspective emo-rock release where Mingi laid bare his anxieties and personal struggles; the track formed part of his first LP, FIX ON/OFF, which itself arrived as a surprise drop in August 2024. Meanwhile, March 2025’s [FIX OFF] Desire Project #2, “AUTOBAHN (Feat. Yunmin)”, shifted the narrative by capturing the aftermath of struggle; the storm has passed, and Mingi is unstoppable.
Serving as a space for unfiltered emotion and creative control, the [FIX OFF] Desire Project series has established a deeply introspective and boldly personal solo journey for Mingi. Now, today’s "ROAR" MV adds a visual dimension to that ongoing story, reinforcing its personal and defiant nature.
Lyrically, Mingi doesn’t hold back in “ROAR”, directly addressing critics and those who have questioned ATEEZ's stadium-filling artistry and authenticity: “They’re such a problem / They’re pure satire / They’re stuck in drama / They’re fake but viral.”
The verses paint a vivid picture of online negativity, performance pressure, and the absurdity of public perception – a clear and unapologetic statement from the feisty ATEEZ member. True to form, Mingi opens the song with his signature barking, almost like barking back at the haters in his own uniquely loud style.
Meanwhile, Mingi’s hands-on approach to production remains central. On “ROAR”, he shares an impressive array of songwriting, composition, arrangement, chorus, and MIDI programming credits with QUAIMO, Long Drive, and The Need, as proof that every detail signals how personal this series is for Mingi – it’s as much about creative ownership as it is about musical expression.
With this surprise MV, Mingi continues to assert himself not just as a solo artist but as a force willing to challenge expectations and take ownership of his narrative. The message is unmistakable: the time is now – fix on.
