ATEEZ to Make History at Rock In Roma as Festival Books Its First K-Pop Act

ATEEZ will perform at Rock In Roma on 8 July, marking not only their first European show of 2026 but a genuine milestone for the Italian festival: the group will be the first K-pop act to play since its founding in 2009.

The announcement appeared on the festival’s official channels, and tickets go on sale via Ticketone from 14:00 on Friday 1 May, with the show taking place at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle.

Rock In Roma has been running since 2009 and built its reputation on a roster that reads like a classic rock hall of fame: The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Metallica, Rammstein, Bruce Springsteen. For most of its existence, the festival has stayed firmly within that lane. Its programming has recently started expanding beyond that orbit. BABYMETAL's appearance in 2024 was the first time an Asian act had featured in the festival's history, but that came with the significant caveat of being a Japanese metal band whose identity is rooted in a genre the festival already knew. ATEEZ are a different proposition entirely.

The significance of the location adds another layer. Italy has historically sat behind the UK, France, and Germany when it comes to K-pop's European footprint, though ATEEZ themselves played the Unipol Forum in Milan as recently as January 2025. What a Rock In Roma slot represents is something different – an entry into a festival circuit that has never previously engaged with K-pop at all. A mixed crowd, a legacy rock-rooted audience, and a billing alongside Mumford & Sons and The Offspring offers ATEEZ a different kind of legitimacy.

For ATEEZ, the booking adds to a live record that has been building steadily since their first North American arena run in 2022. Their European dates in 2025 set new K-pop records on the continent – and Rock In Roma isn't their first festival landmark either, having made history as the first K-pop act to headline Morocco's Mawazine festival in 2024. The outdoor format at the Capannelle is a different context to an arena production, but they've shown they can handle both.

The full Rock In Roma 2026 lineup spans 18 concerts across two venues, running from 9 June to 18 July, with other confirmed acts including Mumford & Sons, The Offspring, OneRepublic, and Marilyn Manson.
