A recent interview with BABYMONSTER reveals a group bent on surprising the world

In a new interview with allkpop.com, BABYMONSTER dug into the details of their debut LP BABYMONS7ER. The conversation between the group and journalist Sofia-Sayson revealed a fresh idol group hungry for attention and positive influence.

In the interview, the group said their lead single, “SHEESH,” is named after the exclamation they hope new listeners let out after hearing how good their music is. They have a strong determination “to have the world react to us with surprise,” says the group. “We’ll keep growing so we can show the world our MONSTER-like skills on stage.”

That kind of confidence isn’t vain. BABYMONSTER doesn’t want to impress just to impress or be admired. They hope to one day pass on the positivity and kindness they got from other senior artists to get them started in their careers.

“Many senior artists would make visits during our monthly evaluations to give us advice and cheer us on,” says BABYMONSTER member Rora. “LEE SUHYUN from AKMU shared a tip on getting immersed in the imagination… that you are creating a film with your own storytelling while singing a song.”

“During the Last Evaluation shoot, Jennie from BLACKPINK gave us advice,” says RUKA. “That advice was the most memorable.”

BABYMONSTER projects strength and a tough-girl attitude, but from the interview you get the sense that they genuinely care about their fans and are so grateful for the help they’ve achieved along the way.
