VICTON: Artistic Evolution

Although it’s difficult to attain such great heights as big-hit boy groups like BTS or SEVENTEEN, VICTON has developed a humble but loyal following and respectable sales figures. The group’s name is an acronym for “Voice to New World,” reflecting their desire to bring a “fresh sound to the world.” The group’s music is a sweet blend of dance-pop and hip-hop and has found its niche through the group’s evolution in style, vocals, and rap.

The seven-member boy group debuted on November 9, 2016, under Plan A Entertainment (now known as IST Entertainment) with members: Seungwoo, Seungsik, Heochan, Sejun, Hanse, Byungchan, and Subin. Heochan left the group in 2022 following a DUI arrest, and in 2023, Hanse, Byungchan, and Subin did not renew their contracts with IST. However, the group is supposedly still in action. Let’s take a look at what makes VICTON special.

First of all, group isn’t afraid to evolve when it comes to musical style. From emotional ballads like “Nostalgic Night” to more intense performances like “What I Said,” the group creates a host of unique tracks.

Also, VICTON is often admired for its consistently clear vocal performances. Seungsik, Sejun, and Seungwoo are frequently cited as having impressive vocal abilities and the group often hosts V Live karaoke.

Finally, Hanse drives the group’s distinctive rap style with his unique voice and style. Fans often praise the way his rap complements the group’s overall soundscape. Check out “Mayday” for a good example of great rap in action.

So, despite being an underrated band, VICTON has created some genuinely good music and developed a unique musical identity thanks to the group’s artistic evolution, talented vocalists, and amazing rap.
