VAV: A group that every ‘Senorita’ wants to have ‘Un Poco Mas’

VAV, short for Very Awesome Voice, is a K-pop group that debuted in 2015. Over the course of their active years, the group delivered stunning music each time. The group debuted with the EP Under the Moonlight. The songs were often co-written by the members, showcasing the extent of their music making skills. During their time together VAV has held several concerts in the US and Europe, capturing the hearts of fans not only at home but also abroad.

The group went through several lineup changes over the years. Xiao left VAV in June 2016, Zehan left in December 2016, GyeoUl left in January 2017. Members Ayno, Lou and Ziu were added in February 2017, and this lineup stayed strong until Braon’s departure in March 2023.

Despite their debut in 2015, it was in 2018 that the group had a taste of newfound fame. The reason being their explosive remake of “Senorita,” an original track by German rapper Kay One featuring Pietro Lombardi. Members Ayno and Lou contributed to writing the Korean rap in this song. The song was also a part of their 2019 EP Thrilla Killa.

After that, the group released EPs and singles to keep the momentum going. Come 2020, the members began their mandatory military enlistment, leading the group to a state of hiatus. Their terms were complete in 2023, following which the group announced their seventh EP Subcönscióus, featuring all active members. The members took part in writing songs for all five tracks in the EP.

Earlier this year in February, A Team announced that the company and the members decided to mutually end the exclusive contracts between them. The news came shortly after the group concluded their US tour as a part of their latest EP’s promotions. This threw the fans in a wave of frenzy as they feared the upcoming disbandment. But the members were quick to erase their fans’ worries. The members took to social media and posted hand written letters thanking their fans for the unwavering love and support. They also reassured the fans that the group has not disbanded. VAV is on an indefinite hiatus until its current six members (St.Van, Ace, Ayno, Jacob, Lou and Ziu) decide their next course of action.
