Hwang Min Hyun: An Entertainer of All Genres and Looks

NU’EST is one of the most popular K-pop boy groups of its generation and its members are no less notable. As a group and as soloists, NU’EST members have always shined whenever they have been on screen. Hwang Min Hyun in particular is one of the NU’EST members who has created an identity of himself beyond the realms of just being a K-pop idol.

 

Hwang Min Hyun debuted in 2012 with NU’EST and made his presence felt with his soft features and melodious vocals. He was also a part of Wanna One for a short while until it's disbandment. When NU’EST disbanded in 2022, Min Hyun stayed with Pledis Entertainment to continue his solo singing and acting career.

Min Hyun’s acting career has been quite noteworthy. His role as Seo Yul in Alchemy of Souls, while limited, was memorable. But his most memorable appearance is the lead Kim Do Ha in the 2023 drama My Lovely Liar. His appearances in reality TV shows are truly entertaining to watch for he has a great sense of humor and a trove of stories to tell each time! In addition to starring in K-dramas, Min Hyun also made his debut in musical theater in 2019. He played Count Axel in the musical Marie Antoinette.

It was in February 2023 that Min Hyun released his first solo EP Truth or Lie. His activities came to a slow halt the same year as he enlisted for the mandatory military enlistment in March 2024. He is expected to be discharged in December 2025. He is slated to appear as the lead character in the drama Study Group in 2025, but the release details are still under wraps. 

In his career of over a decade, Hwang Min Hyun has appeared in modeling campaigns as well. He has slowly but steadily worked towards his dream of becoming an entertainment idol and has succeeded so far. He is also noted for his impeccable dressing and strong physical features. All in all, Min Hyun is equal parts fun and serious when it comes to work and play!
