The Rose’s album HEAL elaborates on the pains that come with growing up and becoming aware of one’s faults  and strengths. The record pulls on the heartstrings of childhood memories, self-worth, and processing emotional healing. Through  powerful harmonies, incredible instrumentals, and intelligent lyricism, HEAL succeeds at creating a space for listeners to relate and  heal for themselves, all while reigniting the alternative rock genre in the K-Pop industry. The aim of this series is to provide a thoughtful, track-by-track analysis of an incredible album.

“Yes (feat. James Reid)” 

The reverb of major piano chords and the quick plucking of guitar strings continues the energy previously heard in “Time”.  Utilizing the unique pop vibes of Filipino-American songwriter James Reid, “Yes” encourages listeners to jump in and embrace the  exciting adventure that is life. With a lively and upbeat rhythm, the song progresses from simply advocating for enjoying life to  urging listeners to confront and overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of their enjoyment. The Rose and Reid strike an  emotional connection through the lyrics, “Help me help you open up your mind,” reminding listeners the purpose of this is song is  to overcome mental obstacles. “Yes” includes a variety of fun sound effects and reverb. With the touch of James Reid, it’s a perfect  hit for road trips and radios.
