Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “rain bird interlude” by CODE KUNST

There’s absolutely zero reason why a track that clocks in at a mere 64 seconds should make any list, let alone get its own feature. But seriously, folks. This song is that good. CODE KUNST has a real knack for accomplishing a lot with a little, letting his brilliant arrangements do all the heavy lifting.

 

This song makes great use of lofi samples, including the eponymous “rain bird” track that runs in the background as a jazzy piano progresses through the song’s chords. Excellent harmonies and effect-saturated octaves compliment CODE KUNST’s immaculate lead vocal as the piano’s intricacy gradually intensifies and the mix begins incorporating more and more of the sonic space. 

 

It’s a master class in listener engagement from start to finish.
