Founded in 2008 by Kim Shi-dae, Seo Hyun-joo, and Kim Young-suk, Starship Entertainment has been an independent subsidiary of Kakao Entertainment in 2013. It has widely been regarded as one of the five major agencies in K-pop. Some of their biggest idol groups include Monsta X, WJSN, CRAVITY, and IVE.
