A year ago in March, J-Hope released his lofi hip-hop dance-pop track, "On the Street," as a farewell gift to fans before enlisting in the military. He collaborated with his long-time musical idol, J. Cole, on this song. Fans know how much J. Cole has influenced J-Hope, especially given his passion for hip-hop and rap.
J-Hope couldn’t hide his childlike excitement and joy when he finally met J. Cole on the set of the music video. He opened his arms for a hug, giggling and blushing in the presence of his warm and gracious idol. J. Cole shared through a translator that he had wanted to connect with the BTS rapper, to which J-Hope responded with gestures that it felt like divine intervention bringing them together.

Overwhelmed with happiness, J-Hope could only giggle like a child and repeatedly express his gratitude. Recently, J. Cole gave a shout out to BTS in the song “Blow for Blow” by American rapper Tee Grizzley, in which he features. J-Hope took to Instagram to thank him in return, affectionately calling him 'J. Cole hyung,' meaning older brother in Korean, highlighting the special bond they’ve formed through their collaboration.
