SUGA's Lawyer in Drunk Driving Case Previously Represented Former Super Junior Member Kangin

BTS member SUGA, who is currently under investigation for operating an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol, was accompanied by a familiar legal face during his police questioning on August 23 KST. The lawyer, referred to as A, is a former prosecutor who has built a reputation for handling high-profile criminal cases within the entertainment industry.

SUGA appeared at Yongsan Police Station in Seoul at around 7:45 PM KST for questioning regarding the incident that took place on August 6. He was joined by A, who left the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in 2008 to join a major law firm, where he now specializes in criminal defense for celebrities.

Notably, A also represented former Super Junior member Kangin in 2016. Kangin faced legal troubles after crashing into a street light in Sinsa-dong while driving under the influence of alcohol. In that case, Kangin received a fine of 7 million KRW and did not appeal the sentence.

The involvement of the same lawyer in SUGA's case has drawn attention, given A's experience and previous success in defending celebrities facing similar charges.
