Korean indie band LUCY, composed of members Shin Ye-chan, Choi Sang-yeop, Jo Won-sang, and Shin Gwang-il, recently released their fifth EP FROM., featuring the title track "VILLAIN." The song is a perfect metaphor for the way a grandmother might secretly slip a few candies into her grandchild's lunchbox, imagining the joy on their face as they discover the sweet treats hidden beneath the bland vegetables and pasta.

"VILLAIN" exudes a cheerful, wholesome pop vibe, with uplifting lyrics that speak of resilience, hope, and finding light amid dark times. The lines, "Today, I feel like I can be a hero. But like something goes wrong, one by one, things are getting more beautiful than I am," carry a charming, affirming message without coming across as overly sentimental.

With its seamless blend of soulful vocals and vibrant instrumentals, "VILLAIN" offers a bright, feel-good listening experience.

The album and title track, From. “VILLAIN”, together create a 'dear diary' feel. But who is the real villain? According to LUCY, both the villain and the savior reside within us—it's up to each individual to choose which version of themselves they want to embrace.
