HYBE Unveils HYBE 2.0 Strategy with Major Restructuring and Expansion Plans

HYBE, known for its pioneering role in the entertainment industry, has announced a major restructuring under its HYBE 2.0 strategy, transitioning its business areas into music, platforms, and tech-based future growth businesses. This strategic shift, prepared since the latter half of last year, aims to secure mid-to-long-term business competitiveness and elevate HYBE's global presence.
In the music sector, HYBE plans to enhance content quality and fan experiences while accelerating expansion in key regions such as Korea, the United States, Japan, and Latin America. A new entity, HYBE MUSIC GROUP APAC, will oversee multi-label business in Korea and Japan, focusing on global business expansion. Shin Young Jae, the current CEO of BIGHIT MUSIC, will lead this group, leveraging his extensive experience in strategic development within the label.
Weverse, the core of HYBE's platform business, will expand its reach in Japan and the United States, introducing a subscription membership service in the fourth quarter. This new service will enhance the existing fan experience with features like digital membership cards and ad-free video viewing. Additionally, Weverse DM will broaden its communication services, incorporating more artists and fully implementing advertisements by the end of the year.
HYBE's tech-based future growth business sector will focus on new ventures like gaming, audio/voice technology, generative AI, and integrated online/offline experiences. HYBE Latin America is set to debut its first artist produced using the K-pop system next year, supported by new studios in Mexico City. The overall goal is to secure HYBE’s new growth engines and adapt to changes in the entertainment industry, ensuring long-term profitability and innovation.
