Global Korean Pop Star, HEYOON, returns today with the release of her new single “Addicted,” a dreamy and bass-driven deep house track that marks a powerful evolution in her artistic journey.
This release marks HEYOON’s most hands-on creative effort to date. Not only did she lead in both writing and composing the track, but she also took a leading role throughout the production process. Mixed by world-renowned engineer Andrew Wuepper (Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Beyoncé) and mastered by Dale Becker (Billie Eilish, SZA, Doja Cat), “Addicted” is elevated to global production standards, affirming HEYOON’s commitment to quality and innovation.
With its ethereal production and haunting narrative, “Addicted” pulls listeners into a fantastical world rooted in R.E.M. sleep, where a mysterious dream entity lures people with hypnotic movement. Once enchanted, the dreamers fall into a cycle of sleepless obsession, chasing the figure across dreams in an endless trance. Through this surreal concept, HEYOON explores themes of seduction, addiction, ecstasy, and downfall. “Addicted” is HEYOON’s third single under Universal Music Korea, following her striking solo debut “Pivot” featuring Armani White, which earned widespread acclaim from Earmilk, MTV, CBS Los Angeles, and the Zach Sang Show. Her sophomore single “ASAP” featuring Chris Patrick garnered attention from Rolling Stone, Billboard, NME, iHeart Radio, and Consequence of Sound, solidifying her presence as a dynamic force in the global pop landscape. As she steps deeper into her solo identity, “Addicted” represents a defining chapter in HEYOON’s evolution as an artist one marked by creative control, bold storytelling, and immersive sonic landscapes.
