Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Scared That Ill Miss U” by 8+acid
著者: 8+acid

It’s great to know Korean indie artists can sing in cursive, too. 8+acid embraces this distinctive western vocal approach with reckless abandon, and she nails it. The song begins as an indie girl acoustic-pop song before dropping into something a lot more soulful.
The drums in this track are super dead and sit fiercely in the pocket. An expertly managed bass line pairs nicely with weirdly-effected electric guitar in the verses, forcing your body to bop along as you listen. Things build nicely before the chorus drops, and 8+acid sacrifices the groove on the altar of impact, choosing instead to punch listeners with accented, full-band instrumental hits. It hurts so good.
This is a journey from start to finish. We love it.
