14 (forteen) makes a shimmery debut

Underneath 14(forteen)’s rich tenor and falsetto vocals sits a harmonic bed that shimmers and swells like the electric buzz of city lights underneath a starry summer night. “if”  (the title of 14(forteen)’s debut single) is rich with lush electric piano, sustained electric guitar chords, and punctuated by a fat bass line and lightly funky guitars. 

 

For a complete unknown, Shin Ji-soo's debut is a wonderful surprise. Listeners online seem to agree, with YouTube commenters calling his voice “charming,” “dreamy,” and “so good.” One commenter even said that he had “a voice like a good friend” – which is a wonderfully apt description. He feels exciting and welcoming but intimately familiar. 

 

We’re really, really excited to see where 14(forteen) goes from here. If his subsequent releases are even half as good as his debut single, he’s got a promising career ahead of him.
