WEi expresses love and gratitude with a dreamy number “LOVE2YOU”

In 2024, we have seen quite a bit less than normal from WEi. The group released their second Japanese EP, WAVE, and went on a promotional tour for the release. Member Yohan was not a part of the activities because of his scheduling conflicts. For the uninitiated, Yohan also moonlights as an actor and a soloist. He has appeared in several fiction and reality shows over the years. 

It wasn’t until July 2024 that the group announced they would release a digital K-pop single titled “LOVE2YOU.” The single was released on August 30. The single is a smooth dreamy romantic number where the members express the underlying emotions that come up while separated from a loved one.

For the concept photos of the song, WEi members wore stark white upper clothing with contrasting dark pants. Accessories were minimal and the members sported soft makeup to complete the dreamy look. The group photos show the members standing together on a beach with a fiery orange sun on the horizon against a serene sea. In the individual photos, we see some members holding sparklers and others just looking longingly at the camera.

 

The song can also be considered as the group’s loving message to their fans. If Dae Hyun’s military enlistment begins soon, it follows that the whole group might go on a hiatus until every member has completed their turn serving their mandatory military enlistment period.
