NCT's sixth and final subunit, Japan-based NCT WISH, has made their debut with their first EP, Steady, featuring the eponymous title track. The music video opens with the members dressed in school uniforms, playing together in a classroom. The atmosphere is somber, creating a mysterious mood that leaves viewers wondering where this track is headed. Could it be a potential crime thriller? Is something significant about to unfold?

Suddenly, "Steady" takes a complete turn, transforming into a fun, frisky, and frolicsome track that leaves listeners feeling a bit bewildered by the unexpected shift. Unlike the strong and sexy music typically associated with NCT's subunits, "Steady" offers a more endearing and enjoyable experience. The members' visuals and vocals shine, and they adapt to the adolescent theme effortlessly. The song seamlessly blends K-pop, J-pop, house, UK garage, and Jersey club beats, infused with contemporary rhythms and a laid-back vibe.

However, the music video's framework is somewhat blurry and ambiguous, attempting to explore more concepts than it can effectively manage. Nonetheless, NCT WISH makes a solid debut with this coming-of-age track.
