Healing With The Rose: Time

Oleh Abi Urton

The Rose’s album HEAL elaborates on the pains that come with growing up and becoming aware of one’s faults  and strengths. The record pulls on the heartstrings of childhood memories, self-worth, and processing emotional healing. Through  powerful harmonies, incredible instrumentals, and intelligent lyricism, HEAL succeeds at creating a space for listeners to relate and  heal for themselves, all while reigniting the alternative rock genre in the K-Pop industry. The aim of this series is to provide a thoughtful, track-by-track analysis of an incredible album.

“Time”

In a wistful and upbeat sound, “Time” nostalgically reflects on joyous moments of life and looks towards new, exciting  aspirations for the future. The band declares that “healing won’t be overnight” but encourages the listener to “cheer to a new  opening.” The overall instrumental structure aggressively presses forward to loud and joyous moments before rapidly turning  around to softer and more reflective sections. This back-and-forth energy outline, addresses healing through “time” and reminds audiences that the healing process takes more than just one good moment. “Countless nights crying over mights” will be spent, but  eventually the better moments of life will shine brighter than the trying ones.
