The Y2K trend is making a strong comeback in global music, fashion, and pop culture, with the K-pop boy group DIGNITY being the latest to hop on the Y2K bandwagon. DIGNITY, a new addition to the fifth generation of boy groups, consists of five members—Luo, Hyeongjin, Luke, ON, and Minseok. They officially debuted in July this year with their first mini-album DIGMOTION and its title track "Cool Down.”.
The music video for "Cool Down" immerses viewers in the Y2K era, featuring sky-blue denim, simple white t-shirts, and baggy outfits, as well as an homage to 1990s hip-hop legend Deux while blending in K-pop aesthetics.
Heavily influenced by new jack swing, "Cool Down" captures the exhilarating emotions of first love, infused with a sense of nostalgia and innocence. With its catchy hook, upbeat melody, and polished production, the track is sure to evoke the spirit of the early 2000s.
