Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “DANCING BEAUTY” by Riot Kidz

Riot Kidz has been making music for over 10 years. 2024’s 98% is their third full length album, and represents the best they have to offer. “DANCING BEAUTY” is a lilting pop/punk number that would feel at home on a My Chemical Romance record. They’ve got clean, anthemic vocals and sugary hooks without losing any of the grit. The guitars are bright and crunchy, the shouts are vigorous, and it’s all around a good time.

You can tell that these guys are career musicians. They have the experience to not just create an energetic, functional song, but to innovate in the space. The band really took their time on this song, writing in some very cool moments that break out of the conventional groove and throw listeners for a loop in an exhilarating way. It’s so much fun – like listening to a rollercoaster.
