What is a Solo Stan?

Sometimes someone is a fan of a solo artist who are part of a larger idol group, but not that idol group. It’s a conundrum where they love a part, but not the whole. For example, that’s like loving RM but not liking BTS. These people are either labeled by members of the K-pop community as a Solo Stan or they embrace the title themselves.
