Watch the Moment: V greets Big Mama’s Lee Ji Young while on duty

If you haven’t seen this, you have to. It’s one of those moments where you get to see an idol in a completely different context. The glitz and glamor are stripped away, and in your minds’ eye you can almost see an alternate reality where that idol never became famous – and is just some normal dude.

 

A recent video on Instagram shows Kim Tae Hyung – otherwise known as V from BTS – on duty at an event. He notices Lee Ji Young, a member of Big Mama and a veteran of the Korean music industry, and respectfully approaches. In full uniform and away from his hype and recognizability, Lee Ji Young doesn’t recognize him at first.

 

He explains who he is, she looks shocked, and they have a really warm and polite exchange. 

 

Big Mama is a girl group that made their debut in 2003. They disbanded in 2012, but reunited in 2021 to release new music. V will end his military service in June 2025.
