Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Whale Cry -new ver.” by LAYBRICKS

We’ve talked about Korean indie-synth rockers LAYBRICKS a few times here, and once again we have a wonderfully colorful, breath-of-fresh-air track from the duo for you! Today’s feature is “Whale Cry,” a song that starts out with a simple beat punctuated with pops of guitar and synths before the chorus explodes into an exergetic and celebratory anthem. It’s a ton of fun, and what makes it even more irresistible is just how dang catchy this song is, even for non-Korean speakers.

The whole song gives visions of whales flying through a sunset-soaked ocean or perhaps through a sky of color and parties. It’s one of those songs that just feels like a good time and is nearly impossible to sit still while listening to.
